GPU/AI high-density server cooling fan solution

Project Details

Before considering a device cooling solution, we must start from the product itself and design a systematic cooling solution based on the size, value, layout, working scenario, work intensity, environment, etc. of the application device.

For example, in the design of the heat dissipation scheme for GPU/AI servers:

We need to address the heat dissipation of GPU/AI servers and face the following challenges:

1. Ultra high power consumption: The GPU server has a single card power consumption of up to 300W, and the overall power consumption is between 300-25KW+;

2. Ultra high resistance: GPU heat sink fins are extremely dense, air ducts are extremely narrow, and there are numerous electronic components inside the server, resulting in extremely high resistance;

3. High temperature: high temperature caused by extremely high power consumption;

4. Stability: Generally, the working hours of servers are 24 hours;

5. Automation: The work of servers belongs to dynamic loads, and heat dissipation also requires dynamic control;

6. Noise: GPUs typically require multiple cooling fans to be configured, and noise issues must be taken into consideration.

LDDC12038 GPU/AI server cooling solution:

Design Key Points

Wind pressure is greater than air volume, and the wind should be able to "press in" the GPU radiator;

High temperature resistance, vibration resistance, and long lifespan are the bottom line;

Equipped with locked rotor protection, overcurrent protection, and abnormal speed alarm;

Design parameters:

Size:120*120*38mm;

Voltage:12V/24V/48V;

Bearing:Sleeve/Ball/Hydraulic Bearing;

Materials:PBT;

Speed:2500~5500RPM;

CFM:110~250CFM;

Noise:51~70db;

Suggested design layout:

Fan wall design: 6-12 12038 rows arranged in a row

Front strong blow → Pass through GPU module → Rear strong draw

Partition heat dissipation: independent air ducts for GPU and CPU areas

Fully redundant, fully hot swappable

Special reminder:

Due to the limitations of air cooling for heat dissipation. A simple air cooling solution cannot fully handle the heat dissipation of equipment with a power exceeding 10KW.
